

Kicks Martial Arts Centre, located on Lewes Road in Brighton, is the place to be for anyone keen on martial arts. Led by Chief Instructor Chris Kent, who boasts a 7th Dan in Wado Ryu Karate and a 7th Degree in Kickboxing, this centre covers karate, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, Thai boxing, aikido, and boxing.
Joining Chris is Tiffany Williams, the Chair, with a 5th Degree in Kickboxing and a 3rd Dan in Wado Ryu Karate. Since 1975, Chris has built a reputation for top-notch instruction. The full-time dojo opened in 1982 and they also have clubs in Peacehaven, Newhaven, Eastbourne, and London.
Every instructor at Kicks Martial Arts holds at least a 1st Dan/Degree black belt and is part of the English Karate Federation. They are also DBS checked, insured, and first aid qualified, ensuring everyone's safety.
As a private members club, Kicks charges membership fees of £15 for adults and £10 for those under 16, with annual insurance cover costing £15 and £12 respectively. Monthly class payments are set up via Standing Order on the 30th of each month.
The centre puts great emphasis on safeguarding and has been awarded the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts certificate for 2022/2023. Anna Duxbury, the centre's Safeguarding Officer, ensures these high standards are met.
