Kate's Baby Massage and Yoga

Kate's Baby Massage and Yoga is a yoga instructor located in Northampton, New Zealand. Specialising in baby massage and mum and baby yoga, Kate offers both in-person and online classes. With over 7 years of experience teaching baby massage to groups, Kate is an NCT trained baby massage teacher.

The baby massage classes are designed to help with digestion, sleep, and bonding between parents and their babies. Each week, new strokes are added to build up a full massage sequence. In addition to the massage, there is also time for parents to stretch and relax. The classes also incorporate nursery rhymes, providing a fun and interactive experience for both babies and parents.

The mum and baby yoga classes are suitable for babies following the 6-8 week postnatal check-up until they are mobile. These classes offer a gentle and nurturing environment for mothers to bond with their babies through yoga. The sessions focus on postnatal recovery, strengthening and toning the body, and promoting relaxation and well-being.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kate has adapted her classes to offer both in-person and online options. The in-person classes take place at Moulton Community Centre in Northampton, while the online classes are conducted via Zoom. Kate ensures that all classes adhere to the current government guidelines for COVID-19 safety.

Participants in the baby massage classes are recommended to bring their own mat, towels, and baby-friendly massage oil or lotion. It is also suggested to bring a cushion for added comfort during the session. Parents may also want to have feeding and changing items readily available.

For the mum and baby yoga classes, participants are advised to wear loose, comfortable clothing similar to what would be worn for a regular yoga or exercise class. Babies can be dressed in sleeveless vests, allowing for leg massages while maintaining coverage for their tummy. Hand sanitization is required upon arrival.
