ABOUT Karen Ann Yoga is a dedicated and passionate fascial therapist and yoga instructor based in Sudbury, Suffolk. Her mission is to help individuals gain control over their bodies and promote physical wellbeing through yoga, somatics, and myofascial release. With over 20 years of experience in sports injury, acupuncture, myofascial soft tissue release, and kinesiology tapping, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to her practise.
Karen's yoga classes are designed to encourage the body to become supple and strong through movement, re-educate the body to function with painless ease, prevent injury, and establish balance and harmony within. Each session aims to be unique and creative, weaving postural awareness, flow of movement, and soft tissue function to develop a deeper understanding of self. Karen's aim is to awaken enthusiasm in her students, encouraging them to move with instinct and self-awareness, nurturing the body and finding a balance between physical wellbeing and inner peace.
In addition to group yoga classes, Karen also offers 121 yoga sessions and clinical sessions. In the 121 sessions, Karen tailors each session individually based on the student's needs and goals, whether it's focusing on particular postures, awakening neuromuscular pathways, or practising breathing techniques and mindful meditation. These sessions provide complete one-to-one tuition with no competition, allowing for personalised guidance and attention.
The clinical sessions are designed for individuals who experience acute pain, injury, or trauma. These sessions include a full postural assessment to identify the root cause of the discomfort, followed by a discussion on the best course of action. The sessions incorporate manual joint mobilisation, soft tissue and fascial techniques, acupuncture, yoga, and somatic movement to stimulate the function of connective tissue and regain balance within the physical structure. Karen also provides an individualised home-care plan for continuous self-care.
