Welcome to KG Jiu Jitsu, a top martial arts school located in the heart of North Adelaide, South Australia. With a range of gi and no-gi classes offered throughout the day, we cater to all levels of experience and schedules. Our convenient central location at 78 Kermode Street ensures easy access for students, and we provide well-equipped changing rooms and showers for your comfort and convenience.
The founder and head instructor, Kane Gehling, is a highly accomplished practitioner with over 16 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Kane started his Jiu Jitsu journey in 2007 under the guidance of Fabricio Mendonca and Gustavo 'Bomba' Toledo. He quickly fell in love with the martial art and has been dedicated to it ever since. Kane began competing shortly after starting his training and continues to do so to this day, now competing in the black belt division since 2015.
Kane has trained with top instructors and teams throughout his career, including Brazilian Top Team Australia and Arruda BJJ, where he received both his blue and purple belts. In 2015, he rejoined his original coach, Gustavo 'Bomba' Toledo, before representing the Bonsai Jiu Jitsu team from 2015 to 2020. Kane also trained extensively in Japan with the Souza Family, further honing his skills and knowledge.
As a testament to his dedication and skill, Kane has achieved numerous titles and accolades at the black belt level. Some of his notable achievements include being the 2022 South Australian State Champion, 2019 IBJFF Pan Pacific No-Gi Champion (Master 1), and the 2018 IBJJF Asian Open Champion (Master 1). Kane's passion for Jiu Jitsu extends beyond his own training, as he has also been teaching and coaching students for several years.
