Performing Arts Academy based in Manchester, J Star Academy of Performing Arts is dedicated to providing a fun, enjoyable, and educational experience for young people and adults in the local areas of North and West Manchester. With a focus on individual attention, the academy intentionally keeps class sizes small, with only 10–20 students per class depending on age group, ensuring that each J Star receives the attention they need to grow and develop into confident performers.
The academy offers a variety of classes to cater to different interests and needs. The Stage School programme is perfect for children who are either very shy or bursting with confidence, as they will have the opportunity to explore singing, dancing, acting, and more. Dance classes are designed for children who want to improve their fitness, make friends, and build confidence through learning rhythm, coordination, and performing to an audience. Sing Stars is ideal for children who love to sing and want to improve their tuning, breath control, and vocal techniques.
In addition to classes, J Star Academy also provides services for nurseries and schools, tailoring their programmes to match the syllabus and focus on specific areas required. They also offer birthday parties that are guaranteed to be fun and secure for parents, providing a stress-free experience. Holiday clubs are offered regularly and have become popular among children who attend regularly and have been with the academy since a young age.
At J Star Academy, the belief is in training children in self-belief, self-confidence, and self-assurance, ensuring that they develop high-level social skills that will prepare them for their future education. The academy also has a Film & Television Academy (FTA) attached, which serves as a casting agency for members by invite or audition only. Regular performances are provided to offer development opportunities, covering a range of topics each term to give students maximum experience and training in areas such as Panto, TV & Film, Recording Studio, and Solo projects.
J Star Academy of Performing Arts began with only six students in Prestwich and has now grown to welcome 300 regular students each week, ranging from 18 months to adults. With their casting agency and commitment to a fun, energetic, and friendly approach to learning dramatic arts, the academy strives to help students fulfil their potential and provide them with a lifelong skill.
