Stagecoach Performing Arts Bury is a well-established performing arts group located in Derby. With a long-standing reputation for delivering exceptional training in a caring and fun environment, Stagecoach Bury is proud to offer its students the opportunity to learn and perform in the beautiful Met Theatre. Led by Principal Jill Schoonjans and a team of experienced performers, Stagecoach Bury is dedicated to sharing their knowledge and passion for performing with each and every student.
Stagecoach is the UK's largest network of part-time performing arts schools for children, with over 700 theatre schools and more than 40,000 students worldwide. Since its inception in 1988, Stagecoach has helped build the confidence of thousands of children and provided a springboard for some of the country's leading young performers. At Stagecoach Bury, every student participates in all three performing arts disciplines: drama, dance, and singing. This comprehensive approach helps develop confidence, physical awareness, communication skills, and articulation in a fun and educational setting.
Stagecoach Bury offers weekly classes for children aged 4–6 years, 6–18 years, and even adults aged 15 and above. In addition to weekly classes, Stagecoach Bury also organises holiday workshops, providing students with the opportunity to further enhance their skills and showcase their talent. These workshops have consistently been a tremendous success, with performances ranging from circus-themed shows to popular productions like 'Shrek JR' and 'Addams Family JR'.
The Stagecoach Bury team is committed to providing a safe environment for all students. All team members undergo Enhanced DBS checks to ensure the well-being and security of every child. In addition to the regular classes and workshops, Stagecoach Bury also participates in regional events and special performances, such as the Blackpool Grand event and the opportunity to dance in the parade at Disneyland Paris.
For those interested in joining Stagecoach Bury, trial places are available for the upcoming spring term. This term will focus on developing skills in acting, singing, and dance, providing a chance to experience the Stagecoach method firsthand. By taking part in these trials, students will not only learn valuable skills but also have the opportunity to make new friends and have fun.
Stagecoach Bury takes great pride in the achievements of its students and frequently shares updates and news on their Facebook page. From standing ovations at regional events to critically acclaimed shows like 'Oliver Jr' and 'We Will Rock You', the students of Stagecoach Bury continue to showcase their talent and creativity.
