Josh Whaley Therapies

Welcome to Josh Whaley Therapies. Josh is a highly qualified psychotherapist, counsellor, supervisor, and yoga teacher based in Leeds. With a holistic approach, he offers one-to-one psychotherapy/counselling sessions, supervision for therapists, and regular weekly yoga classes.

Josh's journey began in 2007 when he experienced a series of personal traumas and sports injuries that left him unable to walk. This challenging period became a turning point for him, leading to an intensive period of learning and self-reflection. He embarked on a path to live more peacefully and compassionately with himself and others.

To deepen his understanding of psychological, emotional, and behavioural states, Josh trained as a psychotherapist/counsellor at the University of Leeds. He also studied Hatha Yoga and practised Buddhist meditation to explore the interplay of mind, body, and breath. By integrating Western and Eastern traditions, he discovered the power of specific techniques in restoring feelings of wellbeing.

Josh holds an MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling from the University of Leeds, along with certification in Counselling Skills and Theory. He has also completed an Introduction to Art Therapy Certificate from the British Association of Art Therapy and holds a BA(hons) in Fine Art from Leeds Metropolitan University. Additionally, Josh is a certified Yoga Teacher and has obtained Pranayama and Foundation Yoga certificates from the British Wheel of Yoga.
