Iyengar Yoga with Olivia is a renowned yoga instructor based in Muswell Hill, North London. With a daily practise spanning over twenty-five years, Olivia is a committed yoga practitioner who brings passion and insight to her teaching. Her classes are characterised by a balanced approach that emphasises both effort and relaxation, tailored to suit the individual needs of her students.
Olivia's journey into yoga started three decades ago when she began practising to alleviate lower back problems and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Within just a few years of regular practise, she found that these issues had significantly improved. Throughout her two pregnancies, Olivia continued her yoga practise and credited it for aiding in her recovery from a caesarean birth.
In 2011, Olivia obtained her certification as an Iyengar yoga teacher, and she later achieved the Junior Intermediate Level 3 status in 2017. As a member of the North East London Iyengar Yoga Institute, she is dedicated to continuously enhancing her skills and knowledge. Olivia has travelled to Pune, India, multiple times to study with the Iyengar family and regularly attends yoga classes and workshops to further improve her practise and teaching.
Additionally, Olivia has a strong interest in yoga therapy and actively volunteers as an assistant at a local Iyengar yoga therapy class. Her compassionate nature and dedication to helping others foster a safe and supportive environment in her classes, allowing students to progress and improve at their own pace.
Prior to her career in yoga, Olivia held a BA in English Language & Literature and worked in advertising for ten years. However, she ultimately directed her energy and focus towards her family and yoga practise, bringing her wealth of experience and knowledge to her students.
