Cliff Lakes is excited to announce an upcoming event that will be of interest to all swimming enthusiasts in Tamworth. The Outdoor Swimming Company is organising a unique introductory course specifically designed for individuals who want to venture into the world of winter swimming for the very first time.
This 45-minute course is the perfect opportunity to expand your knowledge and learn about the essential safety measures involved in swimming during the colder months. The course will cover a wide range of important topics that will ensure your safety and enjoyment during winter swims.
Participants are required to bring their own swimming costume, as well as a bright hat to enhance visibility in the water. Goggles are optional, but if you prefer to use them, feel free to bring a pair along. If you need ear plugs to protect your ears from the cold, please make sure to bring them too. It is recommended to have a tow float, as it is the preferred method for added safety during winter swims.
Additionally, participants should come prepared with appropriate footwear and socks to keep their feet warm before and after the swim. It is also advisable to bring a woolly hat and a big outer layer to wear after the swim to prevent heat loss. A changing robe is highly recommended for ease and comfort during the changing process.
To ensure maximum safety and enjoyment, it is advised to avoid consuming alcohol the night before the course. This will help participants stay alert and focused during the session.
The course fee is £30 per person, which includes a swimming hat. Please note that this course is provided by a third-party organisation, The Outdoor Swimming Company, and not directly by Cliff Lakes.
