Integrated Martial Arts Academy is a sports club located in Hervey Bay, Queensland. Established on October 29th, 2002 in Burrum Heads, the academy is built upon the empowering virtues and qualities developed within the Martial Arts and throughout life. The academy encourages and supports each participant on a progressive journey of inner strength, courage, and heartfelt determination.
In 2006, the academy expanded its offerings with the creation of the Integrated Development Academy. This expansion provides an even wider array of opportunities for personal growth and self-development. In addition to group Martial Arts classes, the academy offers various other classes, 1-on-1 personal training sessions, and self-development programmes. Their aim is to support the overall health, wellbeing, and harmony of individuals in all aspects of life – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
This is achieved through a combination of strength and fitness training, nutritional guidance, inspiration and motivation, spiritual awareness, chi energy connexion and healing, yoga, and meditation.
The Integrated Martial Arts Wellbeing Centre was launched in April 2016. The centre offers a diverse range of Martial Arts, strength and fitness classes, and holistic wellbeing services. It serves as a powerful hub for self-development within the heart of the community. The founding of the Integrated Martial Arts Wellbeing Centre was made possible with the support of various individuals, including Amit & Anne Singh, Maridol Torres, Tahnee MacKenzie, Katie Moran, Simon Upton, and Greg & Mel Atzori.
The ongoing success and positive environment of the Integrated Martial Arts journey are also attributed to the contributions of other instructors and friends such as Joshua Seedsman, Royce Smith, Tyson Kotevski, and Harmony Irvin.
Michael Green, the founder of Integrated Martial Arts Academy, has a rich background in martial arts, having trained extensively in various styles such as Muay Thai, Hwa Rang Do, Zen Do Kai, Kyokushin Karate, Aikido, and Freestyle Martial Arts. He began his martial arts training at the age of four with his father and has also been involved in youth support and community development work. The mission of the academy is to seek personal development through inner strength and courage, as well as empower the community through unity, cooperation, and inspiration. They regularly organise self-development programmes customised to meet the needs of schools, youth groups, and other community organisations.
The academy also features an assistant instructor named Tahnee MacKenzie, who contributes to the positive learning environment and instructors at the Integrated Martial Arts Academy.
