At Ildokwan Taekwondo, we pride ourselves on being a “School of Oneness” or “Unity,” where students come together to learn and grow in their martial arts journey. Our school was founded by Grand Master Davies, a former nine-time British Champion and European Silver Medallist. He is a fully accredited 9th Dan Black Belt holder certified by the World Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan Headquarters in Korea.
Grand Master Davies has an extensive background in martial arts, having trained in various disciplines such as Judo, Kung-Fu, Karate, and Taekwondo. He has represented the Royal Air Force and the British Olympic Taekwondo Governing Body, and even taught Taekwondo to US Special Forces.
With his vast experience and passion for traditional values, Grand Master Davies upholds the principles of Taekwondo and continues to support the original Korean 'Kwan' system. He had the privilege of studying under the late Supreme Grand Master Kim, Bok Man, a pioneer of Taekwondo, and was one of the first three people in the world to be promoted to 9th Dan Black Belt by him.
In addition to overseeing the Ildokwan Taekwondo Schools, Grand Master Davies is the President of UK Chung Do Kwan and Traditional Chung Do Kwan organisations. He promotes the principles of Supreme Grand Master Kim's 'Practical Taekwondo' applications and philosophy.
