The Hylton-Bromley School of Theatre Dance is a prestigious dance school located in Wallasey, Merseyside. Established in 1935 by Mrs Marion Bromley, the school has a rich history and four generations of the Hylton-Bromley family have trained there. The school is highly regarded for its top-quality dance training and has produced successful dancers, choreographers, producers, and directors in the theatre, television, and film industry.
Currently, all classes at the school are taught by Miss Anne and Miss Amanda, who are highly qualified and dedicated teachers. The school offers a positive and nurturing environment for children aged 3 and above to learn various dance styles. The classes are structured and many of them follow the graded syllabus of the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). The school takes pride in its 100% pass rate in exams entered in various dance genres.
The Hylton-Bromley School is registered with the IDTA, which is one of the largest organisations for dance. The teachers at the school uphold traditional values while regularly updating their training methods and knowledge. They aim to instil qualities such as perseverance, graciousness, resilience, respect, and kindness in their students, in addition to teaching them the art of dance.
The school offers a wide range of classes, including general beginners for children as young as 3, classical ballet, classic Greek dance, contemporary modern jazz dance, exercise theatrecraft, tap dance, and progressing ballet technique. The school will also be introducing new classes in PBT, which is a unique programme from Australia designed to help dancers build a strong and healthy physique. PBT classes encourage home practise between sessions using simple equipment like gym balls, pilates balls, mats, and resistance bands.
The Hylton-Bromley School of Theatre Dance values its students and aims to provide them with a supportive and encouraging atmosphere to learn and grow as dancers. The memories and skills gained from attending the school are cherished by past pupils, who fondly remember their time at the school as a formative and enriching experience.
