The World Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Academy (Hornsby) is excited to announce that they will be hosting a Christmas Party & Awards Night on Wednesday 11 Dec 2024. This festive event is open to all families and encourages everyone to come dressed in casual wear. It promises to be a fun-filled evening of celebration and gratitude towards the Parents and Students who have shown unwavering support to WGKA throughout the challenging year, despite the lengthy lockdowns.
During the event, the Kyoshi, along with Shihan John and Sensei Adrian, will have the honour of presenting several Annual Awards to deserving students who have displayed outstanding commitment and dedication in their training. These prestigious awards include categories such as Best Attendance, Best Beginner, Most Improved, Most Spirited, and the highly esteemed Shihan Award. It's important to note that the recipients of these awards are carefully selected by the Shihan based on their exceptional performance.
For those aspiring students who are thrilled at the opportunity to be considered for gradings, please keep in mind that acceptance forms will be distributed to the chosen students two weeks before the grading date. To be eligible for these gradings, students must meet specific criteria, which include Regular Class Attendance, Improved Technical Skills, Enhanced Physical Fitness, Boosted Self Confidence, Proficiency in Dojo Etiquette, Knowledge of Karate Terminology, and the ability to maintain Correct Behaviour at all times. At WGKA, gradings are earned and not simply handed out, as every student begins their journey at the bottom and progresses through hard work and dedication.
