Highlands Squash Club

The Highlands Squash Club, located at 730 Mountain St in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada, is a thriving community organization that provides top-notch squash facilities to the surrounding area. Originally built in the late 70s, the club closed its doors in 1999 due to lack of membership. However, in 2008/2009, a dedicated group of volunteers revitalized the club, which has been growing ever since. The club is proud to be the only court within a 70 km radius, making it a popular destination for squash enthusiasts in the area.

The club underwent a major renovation in 2023, thanks to a Trillium Grant, which allowed for the refurbishment of the courts and a facelift to the interior. The Highlands Squash Club is run as a not-for-profit organization by volunteers on behalf of its membership, providing 24-hour access to existing members year-round.

Membership at the club runs from September 1st to August 31st, with varying fee structures depending on the type of membership. Single adult and student memberships are available, as well as family memberships, cottager memberships, and corporate/group memberships. Guests are welcome to play at the club for a day fee, provided they are playing with a member or attending an open house.

Booking a court at the Highlands Squash Club is currently on a first-come, first-serve basis, with plans to introduce an online booking facility in the future. The club is grateful to its sponsors, including the Ontario Trillium Foundation, which provided a grant for the recent renovations, and Solid State Web Support, which created the club's website.
