Gymnastics & Tumbling offers three types of classes tailored to different age groups and skill levels. The Tiny Tumblers classes are designed for children ages 3 and 4, focusing on developing coordination, balance, and basic gymnastics skills. Gymnastics and Tumbling classes, available for children ages 5 and above, are the core activity of the academy. These classes combine air track and rebound activities with Gymnastics and Tumbling proficiency award skills, allowing gymnasts to earn badges as they learn and master new skills.
For more advanced gymnasts, the academy offers an Advanced Gymnastics & Tumbling programme, catering to ages 13 and above or by invitation. This programme incorporates tumbling, rebound, and freestyle gymnastics, with a strong emphasis on strength and conditioning to improve fitness and help gymnasts achieve more difficult skills.
Gymnastics & Tumbling is led by a team of experienced and qualified coaches. Ricky Brooks, the operator of the academy, is a British Gymnastics trained Level 3 coach in pre-school gymnastics and general gymnastics, with over 30 years of coaching experience. The team also includes Sarah Amos and Nick Brooks, who collectively bring more than 35 years of coaching experience.
Classes at Gymnastics & Tumbling are divided into small groups to ensure each gymnast receives personalised attention. Coaches, who are British Gymnastics qualified and hold up-to-date safeguarding and first aid training, lead the classes and guide the gymnasts through their training. The academy believes that gymnastics can be fun and fulfilling for all, fostering strength, coordination, flexibility, and a focused ability to learn and translate coaching instruction into precise physical movement. The academy's philosophy is that gymnastics training complements the learning and development of many other sports.
