Grimsby & Cleethorpes Yacht Club, also known as GCYC, is a vibrant and welcoming sports club located near the town centre of Grimsby, New Zealand. Situated where the Union Dock meets the Alexandra Dock, the club offers easy access to the Royal Dock from the River Humber, available 24 hours a day. It is conveniently located at the junction of the A180 and Lockhill Road.
The club boasts about 50 yacht moorings that can accommodate yachts up to 40ft in length. If you're looking for a mooring on the East Coast at competitive rates, the club's moorings officer can provide information on availability. Membership is open, and the club offers a wide range of benefits and facilities.
GCYC is divided into several sections, including a Cruiser Section, a Dinghy Section, and an open water swimming section known as the Water Rats. The club is also a recognised RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Training Centre for Dinghy Training and Shorebased Courses. Members can develop and enhance their sailing skills, knowledge, and experience while gaining recognised qualifications.
The club is inclusive and encourages local youth groups, such as Grimsby Sea Cadets, Immingham Sea Cadets, and Cleethorpes Sea Scouts, to utilise the facilities. GCYC organises racing and cruising events for yachts up to 40' in length, providing members with opportunities to participate in competitive and recreational sailing activities.

Entry into the Royal Dock via locks can be arranged at any state of the tide with prior notice.
