Grace School of Dance is a dance school located in Leicester, with classes available for children and adults. Established in 2003 by Deirdre Lee, a highly trained and qualified ballet teacher, the school offers a range of dance styles including ballet, modern and natural movement.
The school prides itself on being a friendly and welcoming environment for students of all ages and abilities. From the age of 3 upwards, both boys and girls can join in the fun and benefits of dance. Whether they are just starting their dance journey or pursuing a professional career, Grace School of Dance offers a supportive and nurturing environment for all students.
Deirdre Lee, the founder and principal teacher of Grace School of Dance, has a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of dance. Trained at the Royal Ballet School in London, she unfortunately had to end her ballet career due to a foot injury. However, this setback did not deter her passion for dance, and she went on to qualify as a Cecchetti Classical ballet teacher in 1994. She furthered her training by spending three months at the National Ballet School in Toronto, Canada.
Deirdre is also a qualified ISTD Natural Movement teacher and teaches ISTD Modern Theatre Faculty work.
At Grace School of Dance, the aim is to inspire and bring joy to students through the art of dance. It is a belief that dance is for everyone, regardless of age or background. From a young child experiencing the magic of their first ballet class, to a returning adult who simply wants to keep fit, the benefits of dance are vast. Dance not only develops confidence, musicality, grace and poise, but also provides physical strength and discipline.
Grace School of Dance recognises the importance of dance for boys as well, understanding that it can enhance their muscle strength and coordination.
The school offers a variety of classes, including advanced classes for those looking to expand their dance abilities. Additionally, there is a unique natural movement class set to 1930s band music, specifically designed for individuals over 50 years old. This class allows participants to stay active and enjoy the joy and spirit of dance, regardless of age.
Grace School of Dance is committed to providing affordable and professional dance instruction. With a focus on creating a supportive and inclusive environment, students are encouraged to express themselves and develop their dance skills to the best of their abilities.
