Gemma Shaw School of Dancing is affiliated with the British Ballet Organisation (BBO), allowing pupils the opportunity to take examinations. The school works closely with BBO Dance and follows their syllabus in Ballet, Tap, and Modern.
In the Classical Ballet programme, Nursery Ballet is available for children aged 2. 5 years and above. This class focuses on teaching basic ballet steps and encourages creativity through mime and improvisation. From the age of 5 years old, children will work through the BBO Dance syllabus, progressing from Pre-Primary to Advanced level.
Tap Dance classes are also available for children aged 2. 5 years and above. Tap Dancing helps develop musicality in all forms of dance by exploring rhythms and tempos. Starting at the Nursery level, children follow the BBO Dance syllabus from Pre-Primary to Advanced level.
Children can join Tap classes at any age and will be placed in the appropriate level.
