Gary Adams organises G.A. Karate with an approach that resonates strongly with sports players. His programme fosters a positive learning atmosphere, focusing on not only karate techniques but also essential skills such as self-confidence and social interaction for young children. Many parents, including some who have seen their children develop a strong sense of discipline and gain self-esteem, have admired his methods.
G.A. Karate also caters to families by offering mixed family classes, where parents and children can train together, regardless of their experience or fitness levels. This setup provides a unique bonding experience and helps families work towards common goals.
For advanced students, particularly those holding green belts and above, G.A. Karate offers classes focused on the traditional aspects of Goju-Ryu and Kata. These sessions aim to prepare students for the Shodan level (Black Belt) and to offer a deeper understanding of the martial art.
Respect is a cornerstone at G.A. Karate. Under Gary’s guidance, students are taught to respect themselves, fellow students, senior students (Senpai), and instructors (Sensei). This instils a respectful and inclusive environment.
Discipline is another core value upheld at G.A. Karate. Through lessons in self-control and self-restraint, students learn to believe in their abilities, which is essential for progressing in karate and achieving higher skill levels.
Courage is also emphasised. Gary encourages students to overcome challenges, set and pursue goals, and succeed across all areas of their lives. The supportive atmosphere helps students build courage to face obstacles with determination and confidence.
Gary Adams, the principal instructor, boasts a distinguished career. He holds a 6th Dan Black Belt in Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate affiliated with the IOGKF. Remarkably, he is the youngest 6th Dan within the organisation globally. With 31 years of training and 21 years of teaching experience, including international stints, he is also an accomplished tournament fighter with numerous accolades.
Whether you are starting out, looking for a family activity, or an advanced student aiming to refine your skills, G.A. Karate in Kelty is a professional and welcoming club. Join a community that values personal growth and excellence both in karate and in life.
