The Dandenong Ranges Orienteering Club is excited to invite participants to the upcoming Fun with Maps Orienteering Event on April 28th at Abbey Walk in Vermont. Whether you're an adult, student, or older primary school kid, this event is the perfect opportunity to try out some outdoor, map-based activities.
The event is designed for all skill levels, so don't worry if you're new to orienteering. Friendly coaches will be on hand to help you learn navigation basics and tackle the specially designed courses at your own pace. You'll also have the chance to familiarize yourself with MapRun and Sportident, and maybe even track down Pirate Pete and his treasure chest with the help of a map.
All activities will take place in the beautiful parkland of Abbey Walk and Campbells Croft, so you can enjoy a car-free outdoor experience. The club will provide all the necessary equipment and materials, so just show up with your enthusiasm and a picnic lunch.
Parking is available along the southern end of Heatherdale Road, and registration will be open from 10am to 11am. Feel free to participate in as many activities as you like until 1.30pm. Just remember to plan ahead for restroom breaks, as there are no toilets at Abbey Walk. For any questions or concerns, you can reach out to enquiries@drocorienteering.com.au.
Come out and enjoy a day of adventure with the Dandenong Ranges Orienteering Club at the Fun with Maps Orienteering Event!
