Foxton Golf Club offers an open membership policy, welcoming golfers from all over the Manawatu/Wanganui and nearby Horowhenua regions. Our course is an impressive Eighteen Hole Par 72 layout for Men, measuring 5860 metres, and a Par 73 for the Ladies, which spans 5075 metres.
Visitors to Foxton Golf Club are always welcome. Due to our small size, start times are not necessary, allowing for a flexible and convenient golfing experience. Club days are primarily on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday for both men and ladies. On Wednesday, we hold a 9-hole club day.
Outside these days, visitors are free to start their game at any time they choose.
The course is open seven days a week, all year round. Gates typically open at around 8am, and play is not affected by weather conditions unless otherwise specified. Updates regarding any changes to the course availability can be found on our active and informative Facebook page.
For visitors wishing to enjoy a game, fees are very reasonable. Payment cards and fee envelopes can be found just outside the entrance to the Clubrooms, and we kindly ask for honesty in ensuring correct fees are paid. Golfers have the option to play alone or in a group, often being able to start their game fairly quickly. If you prefer to warm up before your round, a practise fairway is situated just west of the No 1 fairway, and a practise putting green is conveniently located beside the Clubrooms.
Members have their haggle tee-off at around 10am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but it is best to either arrive half an hour before or after this time or join in around 9:30am. Non-members are welcome to participate on these days for an additional fee of $6, and the bar is open for refreshments once play is completed.
On Wednesdays, our 9-hole members typically tee off around 9:30am or 10am, and visitors are advised to allow half an hour either side of the tee-off time. The course is open on most days except for corporate events, heavy morning frost, heavy rain, or surface flooding.
Saturday golf is a popular day for our members, with tee-offs around 10am throughout the year, except over the Christmas period. This day often involves 20–30 players, and visitors should aim to tee off at least half an hour either side to ensure a smooth flow. Members may be participating in a club competition and competing for valuable trophies, so it is important to give them the right of way on the course. However, visitors are welcome to join them as long as they have a NZ Golf handicap and arrive at around 9:30am to inform someone of their interest.
Sunday and public holidays are also enjoyable days at Foxton Golf Club, as the course is open for both members and green fee players.
