About
Hey team! Welcome to the Foxton Beach Surf Life Saving Club! Ethan and his crew are all about keeping everyone safe at Foxton Beach. Last summer, their volunteers clocked up an impressive 1,262 hours to make sure the beach and nearby areas were secure.
They focus on stopping problems before they start and are ready to offer advice to beachgoers. In the past season alone, they successfully carried out six rescues and assisted eight others, along with handling several first aid situations.
Ethan’s also keen on training and hosts development weekends with other clubs. They’re always on the lookout for volunteers who want to make a difference. Training runs throughout the winter, and they're open to questions anytime.
The patrols are on from 1 to 5 PM every Saturday and Sunday.
The club's been recognised for its hard work, bagging the Capital Coast Innovation Award in 2012 and 2013. They were also named the Capital Coast Club of the Year multiple times and won several awards for their projects.
Foxton Beach is not just about lifesaving; it’s perfect for surfing, walking, and enjoying the stunning Manawatu Estuary. It’s a top spot for kite sports and blow carting, with plenty of room on the iron sands. Low tide lets you reach the Manawatu River estuary, ideal for fishing and boating.
