With over 25 schools and a rich history of captivating performances, Footlights continues to grow and inspire thousands of individuals.
At Footlights, our mission is to educate, entertain, and communicate through the power of performing arts and drama. Whether it's through our stage schools, education packages for schools, casting agency, franchising opportunities, or venue hire, we are dedicated to providing exceptional experiences to our students and the wider community.
One of our outstanding features is our 155-seater studio theatre in Media City, conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from ITV. This fully-equipped theatre is perfect for a variety of performances, from one-person shows to productions with up to 100 actors. It is also available for castings, rehearsals, end-of-year shows, and regular classes.
Additionally, Footlights takes pride in its Theatre in Education programme, which focuses on delivering educational and social issue-based plays to over 350 venues each year. With specialisations in topics such as Child Sexual Exploitation, E-Safety, World Book Day, WW1, and pantomimes, we aim to raise awareness and empower audiences through the medium of theatre.
Our stage, dance, and TV schools offer part-time learning opportunities for students of all ages, operating from various locations in Greater Manchester and the North. Whether during the week or weekends, our classes provide a safe, fun, and inclusive environment where children and young people can learn acting, singing, and dance. Apart from performance techniques, our curriculum also focuses on developing transferable skills, including building relationships, decision-making, critical thinking, and social mobility.

We have been honoured with awards such as “Inspiring Young People” at the Salford Business Awards in 2023, achieved a 100% pass rate in Lamda examinations in 2022, and were named Franchisee of the Year and Community Hero of the Year by the British Franchise Association in 2020.
