Teresa from Fitzwimarc Badminton Club wanted to share a bit about the club with the sports community. Located in Rayleigh, Fitzwimarc Badminton Club provides a great space for those keen on badminton, whether they’re just starting out or seasoned players. There are two well-kept courts to be found here.
On Mondays, the club runs a Club-night at Sweyne School Sports Hall, open to all levels, especially those seeking a more laid-back game. Tuesdays are for the League Players at the David Cox Sports Hall at the Fitzwimarc School, offering a spot for more competitive play.
Fitzwimarc Badminton Club has over 40 League Players and about 35 Monday Club Players. Teresa is particularly proud of this diverse group, welcoming everyone regardless of age or skill level. Tuesdays are when League Players get together to play on four courts at Fitzwimarc School’s Sports Hall.
New players are always welcome. Teresa suggests having a couple of guest sessions before deciding on membership, to see if the club’s atmosphere suits you. If you’re interested, you can reach out through their 'CONTACT PAGE'.
As for costs, the annual membership fee for the 2023/24 season (starting 1st September to 31st August) is £180 for Tuesday League Players and £170 for Monday Club Players. Full-time students under 18 get a 50% discount, while part-time students over 18 pay 75% of the fee. Members can choose to pay in full or split it into two instalments.
The club also offers coaching for juniors and senior school students, led by qualified coaches.
In 2019, the club was recognised as the Best Sports Team, a testament to the dedication and skill within the club.
