Firestorm Cheerleaders is a renowned dance school located in Manchester, England. Founded in 2004 as Thunder Cheerleaders, the team quickly gained a reputation for excellence, winning numerous competitions. Over the years, Firestorm expanded to include Blizzard and Storm Cheerleaders before rebranding as Firestorm, now boasting a talented roster of over 70 cheerleaders across all teams.
At Firestorm, they offer classes for all ages and skill levels, welcoming individuals with or without previous dance experience. The dance school trains on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, with a timetable available for reference. The coaching staff at Firestorm is led by the experienced and passionate Sarah Aldcroft, who is also the founder of the cheerleading team. With over 15 years of coaching experience, Sarah holds multiple qualifications, including ICF/UKCA Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, UKCA Urban Cheer Level 1 and 2, and Building from the Ground Up Pom & Jazz. Alongside her coaching responsibilities, Sarah also dances on the Masters pom team.
Leah Wild, another respected coach at Firestorm since 2017, holds a UKCA Level 1 and 2 coaching qualification and currently coaches Twisters and Blizzard. Leah is also a member of the International Open Pom team. Jenny Price, who joined the coaching staff in 2017, also holds a UKCA Level 1 and 2 coaching qualification. Jenny coaches Sunshine, Whirlwind, and Twisters while assisting with other teams.
Additionally, Jenny dances on the International Open and Masters Pom teams. Megan Jones, the newest addition to the coaching team, holds a BGU Pom, Jazz, and Lyrical qualification. Megan assists in coaching the teams and focuses on choreography. Megan is also a member of the International Open Pom team.
Firestorm provides a wide range of classes, each catered to different age groups and skill levels. The class timetable includes sessions such as Blizzard for advanced pom (ages 12-16) on Monday, Twisters for beginner pom (ages 7-9) on Tuesday, and various other classes on Wednesday, such as Sunshine for recreational pom (ages 3-6), Whirlwind for beginner pom (ages 4-6), Hurricane for intermediate pom (ages 9-12), and Tornado for beginner pom (ages 25+).
Firestorm is proud to introduce their talented teams, each comprising dedicated and enthusiastic cheerleaders. Whirlwind, the Tiny Pom team for ages 4-6, consistently demonstrates hard work and their best cheer faces. Twisters, the Mini Pom team for ages 7-9, thrive on learning new skills and preparing for upcoming competitions. Hurricane, the energetic and skilful team aged 9-11, always brings the excitement to the floor.
Blizzard, the Junior Pom team for ages 11-15, showcases their hard work and delivers captivating performances. Thunder, the Senior Pom team aged 16 and above, has elevated their skills this season, promising exhilarating performances. Lastly, Tornado is the Masters team for individuals aged 25 and above, offering a fun and fitness-focused experience without the requirement of previous dance experience.
