Firefly Belly Dance

Tracey Saunders, the organiser of Firefly Belly Dance, would like to share some exciting news with the sports community. Tracey leads Firefly Belly Dance, a professional dance troupe based in Christchurch, New Zealand. Recognised as Christchurch's top belly dance group, Firefly Belly Dance not only performs regularly but also offers classes throughout New Zealand.

Under Tracey's direction, the troupe is celebrated for its unique and innovative performances, influenced by her background in contemporary dance. The dancers embrace a modern fusion style of belly dance, focusing on creative and experimental choreography.

Firefly Belly Dance includes members skilled in various belly dance styles such as American Tribal Style Belly Dance (ATS), Fusion Belly Dance, and Oriental. Tracey herself stays updated by attending international training intensives and invites global tutors to conduct workshops in Christchurch. She's completed Teacher Training with Carolena Nerricio of FatChanceBellyDance and is a registered Sister Studio.

In addition to classes and workshops, Firefly Belly Dance can perform at a variety of events—corporate functions, weddings, hen's nights, community events, festivals, markets, and more. They tailor their performances to suit event themes and can include props like veils, swords, and fan veils to create an exciting atmosphere. Roving dancers and audience participation can also be added for enhanced entertainment.

Classes with Firefly Belly Dance provide an opportunity to boost confidence, improve coordination, and make new friends. Catering to all levels, the classes are supportive and inclusive. The studio is located at Chrystal Palace in Richmond, Christchurch, with ample parking available.
