Fiona Glanvill Yoga, located in Teignmouth, is a serene and inviting yoga studio where individuals can experience the transformative benefits of Hatha yoga. Led by Fiona Glanvill, a qualified and experienced yoga instructor, the studio offers classes on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Hatha yoga classes at Fiona Glanvill Yoga are designed for individuals who prefer a slow and mindful approach to their practise. With classes held on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 8pm and Friday mornings from 10am to 11am and 11:30am to 12:30pm, participants have the flexibility to choose a time that suits them best. Fiona encourages attendees to arrive early to allow time for settling before the class begins.
During the classes, participants engage in a variety of asanas (postures) and breathing techniques to cultivate focus, build strength and balance, and increase range of movement. Each session concludes with a deep relaxation to leave participants feeling refreshed and energised.
Fiona Glanvill is a dedicated yoga practitioner who recently completed her 500-hour Level 4 Diploma Course with the British Wheel of Yoga. Over the course of three years, including two years of teaching yoga, Fiona has developed a deep understanding of the practise. She initially discovered yoga almost fifteen years ago to address stiffness and inflexibility in her joints that were affecting her mobility. This life-changing discovery led her to realise the holistic benefits of yoga, not only in improving physical well-being but also in finding peace and mindfulness.
At Fiona Glanvill Yoga, classes are organised in blocks of approximately six weeks, each with a specific theme. Themes may be inspired by traditional yogic texts or focus on exploring a particular physical concept, such as lengthening the spine. Through this organised approach, participants embark on a voyage of self-discovery, exploring their bodies, minds, and relationships to challenges both on and off the mat.
To make the most of the themed classes, Fiona encourages students to book in blocks of five classes at a time. The cost per class is 7, and payment is made in advance through BACS transfer or cash, if necessary. For those unsure about committing to a block, a single class can be attended for a fee of 8. Prior contact with Fiona is recommended to check availability and address any questions or concerns.
