The Far North Queensland Motorsports Club, also known as the FNQ Motorsports Club, is excited to announce an upcoming motocross event that will surely get your engines revving! This event is specifically designed for motocross enthusiasts in Cairns who are ready to showcase their skills, agility, and acceleration on the track.
Organized as a bitumen (sealed) khanacross event, this thrilling competition is sanctioned by Motorsports Australia. It's important to note that this event is not your typical burnout, drift, or race event. Instead, it provides an excellent opportunity for both registered and unregistered vehicles to participate in an introductory level 2 non-speed motorsport event.
Competing vehicles will be thoroughly examined during scrutineering to ensure they are in top-notch shape, with special attention given to elements such as brakes, steering, suspension, vision, and occupant safety. All vehicles must meet the necessary safety requirements, including having a minimum 900g fire extinguisher securely fitted within easy reach of the driver, adequate coverage at the positive battery terminal, and radiator overflow bottles that are fitted and secure. Of course, we should not forget about keeping the exhaust noise at an acceptable level to maintain a pleasant environment for everyone.
To join this exhilarating event, competitors must be a member of a Motorsports Australia affiliated motorsports club, such as the FNQ Motorsports Club. Additionally, they must hold a minimum level 2 non-speed competition license. We believe that safety should always come first, which is why all competitors are required to wear a safety helmet that meets the minimum requirements (AS1691/Snell SA2000) and is in satisfactory condition. Enclosed shoes and flame-resistant clothing are also mandatory to ensure the utmost safety during the event. While long sleeves and pants are not essential, it's always a good idea to minimise any potential risks.
We understand that you may have questions regarding vehicle eligibility or competitor requirements. In this case, we encourage you to refer to the Motorsports Australia regulations or contact our dedicated organisers who will be more than happy to assist you.
So, if you are a motocross enthusiast who is eager to put your skills to the test, mark your calendars for this incredible event organised by the FNQ Motorsports Club. With its focus on skill, vehicle agility, and acceleration, it promises to be an unforgettable experience. Hurry and secure your spot today by filling out the event entry forms, membership forms, and license application forms available on our Facebook page or for download. We can't wait to see you in action on the track!
