Eye & Dunsden Village Hall has an even deeper connexion to history, as it was once visited by the renowned World War I poet Wilfred Owen. Owen, who assisted the Vicar of Dunsden when he was just 17, served as the secretary to the hall committee and often attended classes at the venue. Several of his iconic poems were written during his time in Dunsden, and he is honoured with a blue plaque on the outside of the building and a striking statue in the hall's foyer.
