Matt just wanted to give everyone a quick note about the fantastic things happening at Extreme Edge Hamilton, your go-to indoor rock climbing hub in the Waikato.
There's something for everyone with over 100 climbing routes ranging from 6 to 8 metres in height. Whether you're new to this or have been climbing forever, you'll find your challenge here.
For those who take their climbing seriously, there are 36 top-ropes and a standout 14.5-metre overhanging wall just waiting for you lead climbers. Plus, there are two bouldering areas to take on.
Kids! From 3 years old and up, ClimbZone is your new favourite place. With 35 super fun themed walls and a top-notch automatic belay system, it's a brilliant spot for family days out and birthday parties. No climbing experience needed – the friendly team gives a free orientation to all first-timers, so everyone's ready to go. And don't worry about gear – they’ve got you covered.
Flexibility is key – you can drop in casually, grab a 10-session pass, or go all-in with an annual membership. If you want to up your climbing game, there’s tuition available. Entry fees cover the whole day, including ClimbZone access.
Find them at 90 Greenwood St, Frankton, Hamilton. Usual hours are Monday to Friday 12pm to 9:30pm, and weekends 9am to 5pm during school terms. During school holidays, they open at 10am. Best to check their website for specific public holiday hours.
