Kay is a passionate dancer and teacher who has been involved in Egyptian dance for over 20 years. Her love for the music and dance moves led her to join a dance class and eventually start teaching her own class over 10 years ago. She continues to refine her technique and understanding of Egyptian dance through regular classes, workshops, and trips to Egypt. These trips not only allow her to update her dance skills but also provide inspiration from the birthplace of this art form and its rich cultural history.
Egyptian dance, commonly known as bellydance, is considered to be one of the oldest forms of dance. It celebrates the body and its natural movements, regardless of shape, size, or age. The dance emphasises the relaxed isolations of the torso and the articulation of the hips, engaging the muscles of the entire body to build balance, stability, and coordination. Egyptian dance is a beautiful and feminine dance form that combines traditional techniques with modern fusion styles, creating a unique and captivating performance.
