The East Midlands Swimming Academy School Newark, also known as EMSA, is a well-established swimming school located in the East Midlands region of New Zealand. Founded in 1998 by Sally Brooks, an experienced swimmer who has competed at regional and national levels, EMSA offers swimming lessons for babies and children in various locations including Shirebrook, Derby, Castle Donington, Nottingham, Ravenshead, Alfreton, West Bridgford, Newark, Worksop, Leicestershire, and Lincolshire.
At EMSA, they believe that swimming is one of the most important life skills that can be taught to children and is also a great form of low impact exercise for individuals of all ages. It helps to develop and strengthen muscles, as well as improve cardiovascular health and coordination. With private swimming pools available, EMSA provides a safe and comfortable environment for individuals to learn and improve their swimming skills.
The lessons at EMSA are tailored to suit different age groups and abilities. They offer individual and small group tuition, providing personalised attention for each student. Their team of teachers, who are either ASA or STA qualified, have years of experience in swimming and teaching and have been carefully selected by Sally herself. All teachers have comprehensive insurance coverage and have undergone enhanced DBS checks to ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
EMSA follows the Amateur Swimming Association's National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) as part of their teaching programme. This comprehensive and progressive programme is based on technical and educational principles and aims to develop swimmers from beginners to those looking to enhance their competitive performance. More information about the NPTS can be found on the British Swimming website.
EMSA offers a range of swimming lessons for different age groups. For babies aged 6 weeks to 3 years, they have EMSA Babies lessons that focus on teaching parents or guardians how to help their baby move comfortably in the water through interactive games, songs, and bonding activities. These lessons promote early reflexes and build water confidence in babies, preparing them for further swimming lessons at EMSA.
In addition to their baby swimming lessons, EMSA also offers lessons for preschool-aged children. These classes have a maximum of 4 children per class, ensuring individual attention and a safe learning environment. Whether it's teaching beginners the basics or helping more advanced swimmers perfect their technique, EMSA caters to all ability levels.
The East Midlands Swimming Academy School Newark is committed to providing high-quality swimming lessons and promoting water safety. With their experienced and dedicated team, state-of-the-art facilities, and a focus on individualised instruction, EMSA is the ideal choice for anyone looking to learn or improve their swimming skills in the East Midlands region of New Zealand.
