DW Soccer School is a dedicated football training facility located in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. They offer a range of services for boys and girls aged 20 months to 13 years, with the aim of providing fun and purposeful football training to support the development of young players.
Led by UEFA A Licence coach and ex-leadingship professional footballer Darren Ward, DWSS is committed to supporting the physical and mental well-being of its players. The school places great emphasis on its core values of fulfilling potential, encouraging self-development, and creating a healthy environment. They also uphold strong ethics of respect, manners, and working hard.
One of the unique aspects of DWSS is its wide range of training sessions. They offer weekday sessions for children aged 4–13 years old on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. These sessions focus on purposeful football training using their unique programme, delivered by their excellent coaches.
For children aged 5–13 years old, there is Soccer Saturday, a session held on Saturday mornings with the primary focus on introducing more match play and game understanding in a fun and purposeful approach.
The Mini School at DWSS caters to the youngest boys and girls, aged 20 months to 5+ years. These sessions are held on Saturday and Sunday mornings and aim to provide a fun and engaging introduction to football to support development at an early age.
Dad's DWSS is a session specifically designed for fathers aged 30 years and above. Held on Thursday evenings, this session begins with a warm-up to 80s classics followed by a game. It offers a chance for dads to get fit and have a laugh while enjoying a fun football session.
DWSS also runs a Player Development Centre (PDC) for higher-performing players at grassroots level. These sessions are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings and provide an opportunity for players to compete against other PDCs and academies.
During half-term breaks and summer holidays, DWSS offers Soccer Camps for children aged 5–13 years old. These camps provide a continuation of a child's football journey with action-packed, fun-filled sessions.
In addition to regular training sessions, DWSS also caters to special events like birthday parties. They offer the opportunity to book a DWSS Birthday Party, where the school takes care of the organisation to make the child's special day a memorable one.
For those looking for personalised training, DWSS provides 1-2-1 sessions for individuals aged 5 years to adults. These sessions offer a fast-track approach to football development with a bespoke training plan.
At DWSS, their priority is to enhance children's football skills and self-development. They provide value for the commitment made by offering expert coaching, player profiles to support development, player reviews upon request, Top Trainer cards, and reward-based challenges throughout the journey.
DW Soccer School aims to be transparent and honest, providing a platform to fulfil potential regardless of the level the child is at. They understand the pressures that some academies may bring and work with parents and children to support their end goals. Flexibility is key, and they offer a range of training sessions to fit around current football commitments or after-school activities.
For those interested in experiencing DWSS, they offer a free taster session. Whether your child is a beginner seeking fun or a higher-performing player aiming for academy football, DW Soccer School can provide the platform for their football journey.
