I was incredibly impressed with Dan's dedication, knowledge, and passion for coaching goalkeepers. He is a true professional and his sessions at DW Goalkeeping Academy reflect this.
The DW Goalkeeping Academy was founded in 2016 by Dan Worthington, who had previously run successful goalkeeping sessions for local grassroots clubs. The academy offers professional, modern, and innovative training sessions for goalkeepers of all ages and abilities. Whether you are just starting out or playing at an academy level, DW Goalkeeping Academy has the expertise to help you develop your skills.
Based in Essex, the academy holds weekly training sessions on floodlit third-generation (3G) artificial grass pitches across various venues in Shenfield, Brentwood, Billericay, Havering, Maldon, Romford, and the surrounding areas. The sessions provide a state-of-the-art training environment for goalkeepers to improve their techniques and gain valuable experience.
Owner and Head Coach Dan Worthington is a passionate and enthusiastic coach with extensive experience in coaching goalkeepers both at grassroots and within a professional environment. He has held positions at Dagenham & Redbridge as Assistant Academy Goalkeeping Coach and is currently the International Academy Goalkeeping Coach at West Ham United. Dan has also coached in the UK and the USA, working with numerous category 1 academies in the States on their national camps in partnership with Global Image Sports.
Under the guidance of Dan and his team of experienced coaches, several goalkeepers who have trained at DW Goalkeeping Academy have gone on to sign for professional clubs, while others have secured trials. This is a testament to the quality of coaching and development provided at the academy.
If you are interested in experiencing the training sessions at DW Goalkeeping Academy, you can book a free taster session through their info & bookings page. The academy also offers weekly group sessions for different age groups on various evenings and weekends at different venues. Additionally, there are half-term camps available during seasonal breaks, and private sessions can be arranged depending on coach availability.
To support goalkeepers in their training, DW Goalkeeping Academy also has an online shop where they sell goalkeeping gloves. Please note that due to current circumstances, online orders for gloves are temporarily unavailable, so it is best to contact the academy directly for purchases.
The testimonials from coaches and players in the professional football world speak volumes about the quality of coaching and development offered at DW Goalkeeping Academy. Whether you are a budding goalkeeper or an experienced player looking to improve your skills, DW Goalkeeping Academy is the place to be to take your goalkeeping to the next level.
