The DW Goalkeeping Academy was founded in 2016 by Dan Worthington, who had previously run successful goalkeeping sessions for local grassroots clubs. The academy offers professional, modern, and innovative training sessions for goalkeepers of all ages and abilities. Based in Essex, the academy holds weekly training sessions on floodlit third-generation (3G) artificial grass pitches across various venues in Shenfield, Brentwood, Billericay, Havering, Maldon, Romford, and the surrounding areas. The sessions provide a state-of-the-art training environment for goalkeepers to improve their techniques and gain valuable experience.

Owner and Head Coach Dan Worthington is a passionate and enthusiastic coach with extensive experience in coaching goalkeepers both at grassroots and within a professional environment. He has held positions at Dagenham & Redbridge as Assistant Academy Goalkeeping Coach and is currently the International Academy Goalkeeping Coach at West Ham United. Dan has also coached in the UK and the USA, working with numerous category 1 academies in the States on their national camps in partnership with Global Image Sports.

Under the guidance of Dan and his team of experienced coaches, several goalkeepers who have trained at DW Goalkeeping Academy have gone on to sign for professional clubs, while others have secured trials. This is a testament to the quality of coaching and development provided at the academy.
