About

The Dunsborough and Districts Country Club is a welcoming and inclusive sports club located in Dunsborough, Western Australia. It serves as a hub for the local active community, and visitors are also encouraged to participate in the club's various sports activities.

The club's clubhouse is situated at 40 Gifford Road, surrounded by beautiful Jarrah, Marri, Sheoak, and Peppermint trees that line the approaches to the golf course. It's not uncommon to spot Western Grey Kangaroos resting and grazing near the clubhouse, especially around the first and eighteenth holes.

The Dunsborough and Districts Country Club was established on December 29, 1973, and has been operating with a club licence since September 1982. In 2018, the club changed its liquor licence to a restricted tavern licence. With over 800 members, the club provides a range of sports and activities, including lawn bowls (outdoor carpet), croquet, tennis (for adults and juniors), golf, and mountain biking. It also offers mind sports like Mahjong and Canasta.

The success of the club relies on volunteers from all walks of life, who help manage the club's affairs and maintain its infrastructure. The club is grateful for the support of its sponsors, with Wise Wines being a major sponsor for 2022. The City of Busselton has also provided a revitalisation grant of $8,000 through the Community Assistance Programme 2022, which will be used to maintain the club's facilities.

Membership at the Dunsborough and Districts Country Club comes with great benefits, including unlimited use of sports facilities, the ability to vote at the Annual General Meeting, serving on committees, participating in the Friday Jackpot draw, discounted event tickets, and reduced rates for club hire during private functions.

For specific information on sports activities and events, the club's newsletters and calendar can be accessed on their website. Tennis enthusiasts can also book courts for play outside pre-booked times, with fees applicable for members and visitors. It's important to bring along personal equipment, such as racquets and balls, for court hire.

The club's trading hours are Monday (closed), Tuesday to Saturday (9:00 am to 6:30 pm), and Sunday (closed). All outdoor sports facilities are available for use seven days a week. The club can be followed on Facebook for updates and news.

The Dunsborough and Districts Country Club is excited about the future, with the 2023 Masterplan currently in progress. Working with Otium Planning consultants and the City of Busselton, the club aims to update and re-cost their Sport & Recreation Facilities Strategy 2020-2030. Details of the proposals and consultations can be found on the City of Busselton's Your Say website.

With its scenic surroundings, variety of sports options, and welcoming atmosphere, the Dunsborough and Districts Country Club is a fantastic place for locals and visitors alike to stay active and connect with the community.
