Welcome to the Dudman Academy of Performing Arts & Fitness, located in Newcastle upon Tyne and serving the surrounding areas. As a family-run centre of excellence, we pride ourselves on providing a friendly learning environment and the highest standard of teaching. Our dedicated teaching faculty ensures that our students, aged 2. 5 years to 18 years, receive top-quality instruction in a variety of dance and performing arts genres.

At Dudman Academy, we offer an extensive range of classes and courses for all ages. Our students can explore ballet, tap, jazz, ballroom, Latin, classical sequence, musical theatre, drama, hip hop, cheerdance, acro, commercial, and singing. Additionally, we provide fitness classes for adults, including cardio Latin, ballroom, adult Latin, and private lessons. We even offer special services such as wedding dances, group flash mobs, and children's dance birthday parties, all of which have been highly successful in our Fenham studios.

We believe in nurturing creativity and individuality in our students while also promoting teamwork and maintaining styles and a sense of performance. Our fully equipped dance studios feature sprung floors, ballet barres, and mirrors to ensure a professional learning environment. Conveniently located in Fenham, just outside of Newcastle City Centre, our studios are easily accessible.

In addition to our dance studios, we also run the Dudman Singing Academy. This academy offers private singing lessons for students who wish to study singing at a high standard. Although students do not need to attend the dance school to join the Singing Academy, many of our vocal students have gone on to top vocational schools and universities throughout the country, as well as successful singing careers.

We offer weekly classes for all age groups and encourage our students to participate in exam sessions with the UKA Dance Association, as we take great pride in our 100% exam pass rate. All of our teachers are fully qualified and have professional experience within the industry, ensuring a high standard of teaching in all subjects.

At Dudman Academy, we love sharing our passion for performing arts. We arrange theatre visits and perform at charity events to give our students valuable performance experiences. Our annual school show allows students to showcase their talents to an audience in a professional theatre. Additionally, we participate in charity events and select students to represent our dance school in local and national competitions in ballroom, Latin, classical sequence, cheerdance, hip hop, and acro.

Currently, our students are representing Team GB in ballroom and Latin, and we have had British Championship finalists in the past. Some charity events we regularly support include “Strictly St Cuthberts” for St Cuthberts Hospice in Durham and “Paws Up for Police Dogs” also based in Durham.

For students wishing to pursue their passion further, we actively encourage them to apply for auditions to full-time schools. Our students have achieved success in gaining places at prestigious schools such as Stella Mann College, Mountview, Doreen Bird, and Italia Conti Schools in London and surrounding areas.
