Introducing Sam Coombes, the founder, and head coach behind Dual Strength Coaching in Yeovil. Dual Strength Coaching is a highly interactive and client-centred powerlifting coaching service that prioritises attention to detail. With over 10 years of coaching experience, Sam brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help clients achieve their goals.
Sam takes pride in his ability to establish a strong relationship with his clients, recognising that they are individuals first and powerlifters second. He believes that success comes from building trust and providing support throughout the coaching process. Rather than simply delivering a programme and checking in later, Sam aims to create an environment of collaboration, interaction, and a client-centred approach.
One of the key aspects of Sam's coaching philosophy is empowering his clients to become independent, confident lifters. He seeks to provide the necessary tools and knowledge for clients to make informed decisions, reducing their reliance on him. This approach is integrated into his coaching through effective communication, comprehensive feedback, and his vast experience of working with over 100 lifters ranging from beginners to British National and IPF International Champions.
Sam has had the privilege of working alongside some highest-calibre powerlifting athletes both nationally and internationally. He has coached his own athletes as well as Team GB lifters at prestigious events such as IPF Worlds and EPF Powerlifting Championships. Sam has also previously worked with Team England at the Commonwealth Championships. His experience and expertise make him well-equipped to guide clients through their powerlifting journey and help them reach their next steps within the sport.
Dual Strength Coaching offers both online and in-person coaching options to cater to individual preferences and needs. Sam's coaching achievements speak for themselves, with 3 IPF World Podium finishes, 4 European Podium finishes, and over 8 National Podium finishes. He has also coached a Commonwealth Champion and over 100 regional competitors.
