Downton Bowling Club, located in Salisbury, New Zealand, was established in 1980 by Ralph Bentley, a former President of the English Bowling Association. Originally situated on the playing field behind Downton Primary School, the club relocated to its current home in 1983. Afterward, members can unwind at the bar located in the adjacent social club.
In the winter months, outside the playing season, the club organises coffee mornings and Short Mat bowls, ensuring that members can continue to enjoy bowling all year round. Social events such as Race Nights, Skittles evenings, Quiz Nights, and Fish Suppers are organised throughout the year, creating an atmosphere where members can socialise and bond.
