Donna Southwell Yoga

Donna Southwell Yoga, located in Hebden Bridge, is led by a passionate and experienced yoga instructor who discovered the transformative power of Ashtanga Yoga while travelling in India in 1999. Since then, Donna has dedicated herself to the practise and has seen how it can bring physical and mental benefits, as well as a conscious way of interacting with others and the world.

Donna's journey into teaching yoga was unexpected yet undeniable. Starting as an assistant to her teacher, she gradually found herself being asked to teach more and more in classes. In 2003, she made the decision to fully commit to teaching and has been sharing the practise and philosophy ever since, witnessing the positive impact it has on individuals.

Donna is passionate about making yoga accessible to everyone, tailoring the practise to each individual that walks through her studio door. Her classes, offered in both Todmorden and Hebden Bridge, are designed to be challenging yet inclusive for dedicated practitioners and individuals who are looking to incorporate yoga into their lives.

In addition to regular classes, Donna also offers retreats and workshops to further enhance the yoga experience. For those interested in immersing themselves in the Ashtanga yoga practise, a year-long immersion into the Ashtanga primary series is available, along with optional modules in Pranayama, Zen Meditation, Chanting, Intermediate Postures of Ashtanga Yoga, and exploring East/West Spiritual Paths. Another option is an Intermediate Series immersion, deepening the practise in the second series over four weekends.

Donna's studio, Finding The Centre, is located on the first floor of 38 Hangingroyd Lane in Hebden Bridge. Pay at metre parking is available on Hangingroyd Lane, and there are two nearby car parks. The studio is a 10-15 minute walk from the Hebden Bridge train station and is situated behind the Star garage and above the tattoo studio.

For women approaching menopause, Donna offers a workshop called “Harness the Wisdom of Menopause and Beyond. ” This workshop combines yoga and writing to explore the transformative potential of this stage of life and provide a heart-centred space for growth and self-discovery.

Donna Southwell Yoga also organises international retreats, with one taking place in YogApulia, a boutique retreat centre exclusively for yoga and meditation in the Valle d'Itria in Apulia, Italy.
