Denise Henderson Studio of Tap, Jazz, and Musical Theatre has been a cornerstone of the Dunedin dance community since 1981. Under the expert direction of Denise Henderson, one of New Zealand's most esteemed Tap Dancing choreographers, teachers, and adjudicators, the studio has nurtured talented dancers for over 40 years.

Denise brings a rich performance history to the studio, having starred in many beloved shows such as “Chicago,” “Annie,” “Beauty and The Beast,” and “Les Misérables.” She has also directed and choreographed successful productions like “My Fair Lady” and “The Sound of Music.”

The studio’s teaching staff is highly qualified, trained in various dance forms, including tap, ballet/jazz, musical theatre, and singing. They bring extensive performance experience and qualifications, ensuring top-notch training for all students.

Denise Henderson Studio offers a variety of classes for all ages and skill levels, from tap to jazz and musical theatre. They introduced the NZAMD American Jazz programme in 2020, currently offering the first four grades with plans for future expansion.

Students of the studio consistently achieve high marks in exams, concerts, and competitions, with an impressive 80% passing exams with distinction, scoring over 95%.

Denise’s passion for musical theatre extends beyond the studio. She collaborates with societies, schools, and organisations throughout Dunedin, ensuring each show is a polished, detailed success that audiences adore.
