Welcome to Dancing Stars! Dancing Stars is a small and friendly dance school located in Bury St Edmunds, offering fun and exciting dance classes for children and adults. The school offers a variety of classes including “Dance with Mummy” and “Little Stars Ballet” for children aged nearly 2 to 5 years. They also provide after school dance clubs, adult tap lessons, and dance classes for special community groups.
The classes at Dancing Stars are run by Christine Glancy, who has over 20 years of experience teaching ballet, tap, and modern dance. Christine started dancing and singing at the age of 3 and has trained locally, obtaining her teaching qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. She has also trained and entered many children for their ballet, tap, and modern exams with the I. S.
T. D and R. A. D examination boards.
Christine is still actively involved in performing and can often be seen treading the boards at the Theatre Royal with the local group, the Irving Stage Company.
Dancing Stars was started by Christine in January 2012. With a young daughter of her own, Christine wanted to have a balance between work and family life. She noticed a lack of dance groups for toddlers and decided to fill that void by starting “Dance with Mummy” classes. Christine thoroughly enjoys dancing and singing with the children and finds it rewarding to see them grow in confidence and express their personalities through dance.
In addition to toddler and children's classes, Dancing Stars also offers adult tap classes. Tap is a great way to keep fit and have fun, regardless of age or experience level. Whether you are an absolute beginner or have had some previous tap experience, this class is suitable for all.
Furthermore, Dancing Stars is actively involved in community work. Christine currently runs after school clubs at Hardwick Primary and Guildhall Feoffment Primary schools, as well as working with adults with learning difficulties. She is also available to work in nurseries and other community groups.
