Dance Arena is a renowned dance school located in Elanora Heights, Sydney, offering a wide range of dance programmes for dancers of all ages and levels. Established in 1989 by Katherine Ward, a highly qualified and respected Teacher of Dance, Dance Arena has become a centre of excellence in the dance community.
The school prides itself on providing fun and focused lessons that celebrate the dancer in each student. Dance Arena offers a variety of programmes, including Royal Academy of Dance and Cecchetti International Classical Ballet Examinations. Students have the opportunity to take part in these examinations to further their skills and receive recognition for their hard work. The school has also produced successful dancers, with Lila and Chantal winning at the Crown International Dance and Dancesport Championship. Chantal was awarded the gold medal in Classical Ballet Solo and the bronze medal in Modern Expressive Solo.
Katherine Ward, the founder and head teacher of Dance Arena, is a highly qualified and respected figure in the dance community. Holding Registered Teacher Status with the Royal Academy of Dance, Cecchetti Ballet Australia, and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in London, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her teaching. With a background in psychology and professional experience in stage and television productions, Katherine is dedicated to nurturing the talent of her students and helping them reach their full potential.
Dance Arena's success is evident in the achievements of its students. Graduates have gained placements in selective vocational dance schools and universities, such as The New Zealand School of Dance and The Australian Ballet School. HSC Dance students have received Band 6 results and have been nominated and selected to perform in the NSW Board of Studies CALLBACK concert. The school's students have also received awards in major Eisteddfods and achieved distinction/honours level in examinations.
With over 30 years of experience, Dance Arena continues to provide quality dance tuition to students in Elanora Heights and the surrounding areas. The school offers various dance programmes, including pre-school ballet, jazz, tap, and ballet, catering to children from an early age. Dance programmes for older students in years 3-4 and beyond are also available, offering a more comprehensive dance experience.
