About

Curie de la Vieille Maison is a horse boarding stable and horseback riding service located in Saint-Simon-de-Bagot, established in 2007. The facilities at the stable include an indoor arena, a round pen, and acres of trails that extend across neighbouring properties. Visitors will find endless opportunities for exploring the beautiful surroundings.

One of the key features of curie de la Vieille Maison is the training opportunities available. Specialists offer classes at the stable, and personalized lessons with an instructor are also available. The health and well-being of the horses are a top priority, with all necessary services provided, including veterinary care and equine massage therapy.

The stable prioritizes creating a friendly environment for riders to share their passion for horses and enjoy the pleasure of horseback riding. Those interested in learning more about the stable and its residents can browse through a photo album to meet some horses in the care of curie de la Vieille Maison.

Visitors will be welcomed into a warm and inviting atmosphere at the stable, with a beautiful lounge on the second floor of the main building. The lounge features a kitchenette, dining area, and restroom, providing a comfortable space to relax, warm up in winter, or enjoy a meal. The ground floor houses a room for storing saddles and personal equipment, as well as an indoor stall. Outside, the stable boasts a fenced round pen, an indoor arena, and three large paddocks where horses can freely roam.

Riders can explore dozens of kilometres of trails through fields and forests for hours or the whole day.

The history of curie de la Vieille Maison is rooted in the ancestral land of the Dalp family. The original old house, which housed previous generations, now stands alongside the red house where Yvon and Denise reside. Together, they have worked to bring their shared dream of creating an environment that meets the needs of free-ranging horses to life. The couple's passion for horses led them to establish the stable on part of the fields, creating enclosures for boarding and training horses.

The story of curie de la Vieille Maison began in 2007 when Denise purchased a horse for training, and Yvon acquired a mare for carriage driving, only to discover that she was pregnant. This unexpected turn of events led to the birth of douard, the first foal born on the grounds of the stable. With three horses and a broodmare, Yvon and Denise opened their doors to more horses, eventually leading to the creation of a boarding facility. Over the years, the stable has grown in popularity, with a community of around fifteen horses calling it home.

Denise's dedication to learning about horse care through books and magazines in 2007 marked the beginning of a continuous process of education and improvement at the stable. The construction of a standard indoor arena in 2008 further enhanced the training opportunities available to riders and their horses at curie de la Vieille Maison.
