The Cumbria Schools Football Association, led by Sarah DaCosta and Martin Duffield, is right at home in Carlisle, UK. They're all about football and nurturing young talent across the Cumbria region.
Sarah and Martin focus on setting up and joining tournaments and festivals for different age groups. They make sure everything’s safe and inclusive, completing thorough risk assessments for each venue and sharing these with all teams involved.
Policies are solid; there’s safeguarding, social media, anti-bullying, and consent for photography guidelines all in place. Players, coaches, and parents/carers sign codes of conduct to keep things respectful and positive.
Safety’s a top priority. There’s always enough staff around – at least two – and they take into account everything from the age of the players to the location of changing rooms and toilets.
For emergencies, there's a designated welfare officer who can be contacted by parents and players, and the nearest hospital is always noted down for any medical issues during events.
The club also offers practical advice on running festivals and tournaments, stressing the importance of having written consent for players to participate, along with parent/carer contact info and medical details.
