Crowthorne Wado Karate Club is a reputable martial arts school located in Crowthorne, New Zealand. As a member of the Federation of England Wado-Kai Karate-Do Renmei, the club is proud to be part of a larger network of karate clubs across England.
The Wado Karate style taught at the club was developed by Master Hironori Ohtsuka and registered as a style with the Dai-Nippon-Butoku-Kai in 1939. Known as the “Way of Peace” style, Wado-ryu karate focuses on body shifting and evasion techniques to effectively evade opponent's attacks. Students at Crowthorne Wado Karate Club will learn the fundamental principles and techniques of Wado Karate while also developing physical fitness, discipline, and self-confidence.
Following the relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions in July 2021, the club now offers contact training sessions to its members. The club is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of its students and will continue to follow any necessary precautions to keep them protected.
Crowthorne Wado Karate Club regularly updates its members and the community about important news and upcoming events. Some events hosted by the club include the EWKR Winter Training Course, Halloween Karate Training Course, Senior Grade Training, Kata Course, Autumn Course (South), Squad Training (Kata/Kumite), and Summer Karate Course. These events provide opportunities for members to enhance their skills and knowledge in a supportive and motivating environment.
The club also has affiliations with other training clubs in the area, including Wokingham, Reading, Guildford, and Farnborough Hill School (School Club). These affiliations offer members the chance to participate in additional training sessions and interact with a wider karate community.
