About us! Craigieburn School of Dance is a prestigious dance school located in Craigieburn, Victoria. Since its establishment in 1994, CSD has been dedicated to nurturing a love for dance and developing technical skills in students of all ages. Whether you're a recreational dancer or aspiring to pursue a professional dance career, CSD provides exceptional tuition in a supportive and encouraging environment.
At Craigieburn School of Dance, we offer a wide range of dance classes to cater to diverse interests and abilities. Our classes include Classical Ballet, Fairy Ballet, Preschool Jazz, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, and even Adults classes. Our experienced teaching staff ensures that each student receives top-quality instruction and is given the opportunity to excel in their chosen dance style.
One of the highlights of CSD is our affiliation with the British Ballet Organisation (BBO). Our students have the privilege of being instructed under the BBO Syllabus, which gives them the chance to sit external examinations. The BBO is recognised by the National Council of Dance, and the successful completion of these exams can lead to obtaining teaching qualifications in the future. However, it is important to note that examinations are not compulsory, and the decision to participate is entirely up to the parent and student, with guidance from the teacher.
Our dance classes are held at our purpose-designed Craigieburn Studio. The studio is specifically built for dance, featuring wooden floors covered in tarquette, mirrors, ballet barres, and acrobatic equipment. This ensures that students have the ideal environment to practise and refine their dance skills.
Craigieburn School of Dance proudly presents two major performances each year. Our mid-year cabaret is held at the prestigious Melrose Conference and Reception Centre, where students have the opportunity to showcase their talents to the wider community. Additionally, our end-of-year production takes place at the renowned Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre. Our dedicated team ensures that costumes are made or purchased for our dancers, eliminating the need for costume making.
The average cost of costumes ranges from $45 to $80, depending on the age group. We also provide professional photography services for our troupes, and our concert is recorded and available for purchase on DVD.
In the interest of convenience, CSD offers a range of dancewear items available for purchase at our studio. These items include a girls' zip-up hoodie, girls' singlet, girls' T-shirt, boys/girls pull-on hoodie, and boys' T-shirt. Our stock is maintained regularly, ensuring that students have access to the required dancewear.
For those who prefer to explore different dance paths, we offer open classes at Craigieburn School of Dance. This provides an opportunity to learn and discover new dance styles outside the traditional syllabus-based classes.
Craigieburn School of Dance is committed to providing an inclusive and safe environment for all students. We strictly adhere to the CSD Child Safety Policy, prioritising the well-being and protection of our dancers.
We invite you to join us at Craigieburn School of Dance and become a part of our vibrant dance community. Embark on an exciting journey of self-expression and skill development while fostering a lifelong love for dance.
