Cowglen Golf Club, located just minutes from Glasgow City Centre, is a golf club that offers a stunning parkland course designed by the legendary James Braid in 1906. With a remodelling in 1994, the course now provides a fair and enjoyable experience for golfers of all levels.
The course at Cowglen Golf Club offers breathtaking views across the city from its elevated position. As one of the finest courses in Scotland, it is always beautifully presented thanks to the efforts of our dedicated Course Manager. From the back tees, low handicap golfers will find a challenging test, while players of all levels can enjoy a rewarding game.
In addition to the exceptional course, Cowglen Golf Club boasts some of the best practise facilities in the southside of Glasgow. Our covered driving range and short game areas are ideal for warming up before a round or for honing your skills and improving your game. The facilities cater to players of all abilities.
To further enhance your golfing experience, Cowglen Golf Club is home to two fully qualified PGA professionals, including our Head Professional, Simon Payne, who is recognised as one of Today's Golfer top 50 coaches. Their expertise and guidance are available to help golfers of all levels enhance their game.
After a rewarding game of golf, you can relax and unwind in our modern lounge. The clubhouse has a relaxed atmosphere and features a recently refurbished spike bar, creating an ideal space for junior members to relax or for senior members to enjoy a game of pool. At Cowglen Golf Club, we understand the importance of nurturing and developing the junior game. That's why we have the Cowglen Academy, a covered facility that was opened on June 21, 2014. The first shots were hit by members of our junior section, honouring the vision of our late President Charlie Mackenzie.
The Cowglen Academy consists of six bays and a separate teaching studio, elevating our already excellent practise facilities to a whole new level. With this covered facility, golfers can enjoy year-round practise and coaching, regardless of the weather. In recognition of our commitment to developing golf, Cowglen Golf Club has been selected as a Scottish Golf Development Centre.
Members and their visitors are welcome to use the Cowglen Academy. However, a limited number of Practise Area Memberships are available, allowing full access to all practise areas at the club at all times. This includes the chipping green, putting green, and the “long” short game area. Please note that restrictions may apply when coaching or other activities are taking place.
If you're interested in becoming a member of our wonderful club, the application process is simple. Even if you don't know any current members, you can fill out the membership application form on our website. Once we receive your application, our managing secretary will get in touch to arrange an informal meeting or address any questions you may have over the phone.
During the meeting, we'll give you a tour of the clubhouse, describe the course and the club itself, and share our plans for the future. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the extensive range of benefits enjoyed by our members and ask any questions you may have before making a decision.
