Coventry Aikido Club, known as Chishin Dojo, is excited to host an upcoming seminar in Coventry that will be presented by Lisa Tomoleoni Shihan. Taking place in October, this event is sure to be a great opportunity for Aikido enthusiasts to learn and grow in their practice.
Chishin Dojo, established in June 2007, has established itself as a small and friendly community-focused Aikido club. The name Chishin Dojo was bestowed upon them by Hiroshi Ikeda sensei and embodies the concept of understanding oneself and forging heartfelt connections with others.
Conveniently located not too far from Coventry's city centre, Chishin Dojo offers a variety of classes on a daily basis. These include Aikido, Internal Strength (6H Movement), Yoga, and Sports Therapy. The spacious facility boasts excellent amenities such as changing facilities, kitchen and shower areas, as well as a dedicated treatment room. Additionally, the club is open to renting out the space to other groups.
At Chishin Dojo, they highly value the teachings of Hiroshi Ikeda sensei and place great emphasis on bringing together teachers and students from different Aikido organisations and backgrounds. Their aim is to foster skills sharing, build lasting friendships, and contribute to the overall growth of Aikido as a martial art.
Moreover, Chishin Dojo offers internal classes that focus on analysing and studying the 6 Harmonies movement in relation to Ueshiba's Aikido. Newcomers are warmly welcomed to either observe or join their classes, with the first two weeks being completely free. Regardless of grade or style, the club embraces students from all Aikido associations, creating an inclusive and diverse community.
Chishin Dojo is a proud member of UK Aikido Shimbokukai, which itself is affiliated with Aikido Shimbokukai. This association aims to bring together instructors, dojos, and practitioners to encourage the ongoing practice and development of Aikido. By fostering the exchange of experiences and ideas, Aikido training takes place without adhering to any specific style or teacher. All individuals with an interest in advancing Aikido are cordially invited to join this community. It is worth noting that this association is officially recognised by the Aikido World Headquarters (Hombu Dojo) and the Aikikai Foundation in Tokyo, Japan.
Chishin Dojo is also an esteemed member of the British Aikido Board, promoting inclusivity and diversity by welcoming students from all walks of life. They firmly believe in creating an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and valued.
The Coventry Aikido Club - Chishin Dojo encourages individuals to get involved and participate in their Aikido seminar hosted by Lisa Tomoleoni Shihan. Visit their website for more details on this exciting event and other upcoming activities.
