Elizabeth Reid invites you to be a part of the Core Factor Pilates community right here in Huntingdon, UK. Elizabeth, a dedicated Level III Pilates Instructor and member of FitPro & BackCare Associate Professional, is passionate about helping everyone achieve their fitness goals through Pilates.
Pilates, developed by Joseph Pilates in 1883, includes 34 mat work exercises and is often referred to as “Contrology.” It’s all about using your mind to control core muscles, such as those in the lower back, stomach, hips, and glutes. By engaging in these balanced exercises with controlled breathing, Pilates aims to correct posture imbalances and help you find balance, flexibility, and coordination in your body.
At Core Factor Pilates, the focus is on building muscle strength and control without excessive physical strain. The exercises aim to lengthen and tone your muscles, resulting in a fitter, more toned physique. One fundamental aspect of Pilates taught at Core Factor involves correct breathing techniques, which are essential for optimising the exercises’ benefits. By focusing on exhalation and engaging the lower stomach muscles, you can strengthen your core to support better posture and a healthier back.
The studio offers both in-person classes at the Huntingdon venue as well as live Zoom classes for those who can't attend onsite.
